Job Description

The Trust acts as the management company operating and coordinating the maintenance and servicing of Jewish cemeteries across North Manchester.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working person to join our busy Cemeteries team.

Must have experience either as Labourer, Ground worker or Gardener.

Duties include:

• Measuring and marking out grave spaces
• Using a mechanical excavator and hand tools to dig and prepare graves
• Keeping graves tidy
• Maintaining lawns, verges, plants and trees around the cemeteries
• Checking headstones for damage and marking those that are unsafe

Experience and skills Required

The successful candidate will be hard working, enthusiastic, willing to learn and a good team player and willing to do whatever is required to get the job done. The candidate must be prepared to work outdoors in all weathers and in challenging conditions. Working with other funeral and cemetery staff is vital to the role, as are good communication skills and a caring and compassionate nature for dealing with the bereaved.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they are:

• Organised
• Capable of working on their own initiative and under supervision
• Preferably have mini digger experience (Additional training will be given)
• Has a current clean driving license
• PA1 PA6 license an advantage
